A Career in Retail with 406 Jill

Born and raised in Montana, Jill and her family moved from the Hinrichs Homestead in Delphia to a cattle ranch in Pleasant Valley, 50 miles west of Kalispell, before she turned three. Like most ranch kids, she was working cattle and doing chores before she even started school. And like most, she learned early on the value of patience, persistence, and hard work. Jill started 4-H at the ripe old age of eight. She was active in 4-H, showing ponies and horses, raising market steers, and volunteering in her community. Jill added a registered Quarter Horse filly, a few Columbia sheep, a Jersey milk cow, chickens, and rabbits to her “farm.” Jill filled her mom’s old corner cupboard with trophies and ribbons.

After her family moved to Kalispell, Jill started high school and began working in retail sales, which turned into a successful 20+ year career in retail management. Her ability to build solid customer relationships and adapt to changes with a willingness to work smarter and harder set her apart, consistently outperforming her sister stores in larger markets.

When her life took a big turn, she found herself with the time and freedom to take her running to the next level. Jill began training and competing in marathons in 2004, and over the next ten years, she logged thousands of miles on the trails, streets, and roadways of the U.S., Canada, the Bahamas, and Anguilla. She qualified and ran in major races, including three consecutive finishes in the Boston Marathon (2011-2013). Jill was tested further in the tragic events of the 2013 Boston Marathon. She contributes her common sense and steady nerve from her ranch upbringing to allow her to navigate the chaos while assisting and supporting other runners.

That experience shifted her focus, and for several years afterward, she took refuge in her running, supported herself with hospitality work, and even moved across the country to check out life near the Florida beaches. Eventually, she returned to the familiar landmarks of the Flathead Valley, and when it was time to get back in the saddle, she decided to launch a career in real estate.

In the spring of 2019, April Fools Day, to be exact, she earned her real estate sales license and joined Chuck Olson Real Estate, Inc., an agency that has been in business for over 50 years and has always called Montana home. Jill then hit the ground running. Her first real estate sale was a Flathead Lake home with acreage. She earned a nomination for her supervising broker as Rookie of the Year and joined the Northwest Montana Association of Realtors Professional Development Committee. Jill is fervent about continuing education and learning. She has served as Chair and Vice Chair of this committee and strives to provide the best curriculum for fellow Realtors to grow in this continually evolving industry. If you have questions about real estate, Jill is the gal to get you the answers!

With the hot Montana real estate market on her side, Jill fast-tracked her goal of becoming a broker, passing the exam on Halloween 2022 and earning her supervising broker endorsement in 2023. By December, Jill had procured all the necessities to achieve her next goal: opening 406Jill LLC as an independently owned and operated real estate brokerage in January 2024.

Jill will continue to go the distance for you in real estate!
